About this deal

I loved it. I loved the characters bonding over their issues and pasts, the character development, and the aspect of Martina regaining her confidence and building her character. It gave found family vibes although I’m sure that Ras and Gemma’s book will give that even more. I’m so glad that I give this one the time of day because it totally deserved it. WST is just as good as WSU. They’re both on the same tier for me, since they both handle different aspects and issues and have different tropes. (Although I’m kinda biased to WSU, just a little bit) 🤏 The first book in The Fallen series. This book tells the story of Damiano De Rossi and Valentina Garzolo Conte. i wanted a mafia romance, so i enjoyed this book! i really we enjoy vale as the main female character. she was strong and badass. i loved that we got to see her growth, and more specifically her revenge! i enjoyed damiano as well, and i felt like the two of them had really great chemistry. the main reason i didn’t rate this higher, was because the relationship was very instalove and i really just don’t enjoy that. also, i didn’t really like the spice was very exceptional on my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♀️there are more books to come in the series, so i’m excited to read those!

I really hated that the heroine had to kill her tormentor at the end. This poor girl had already done so much killing, I wanted her to be spared that nightmare. I really wanted the hero to come through for her here. Womp-womp I've been raised to be the perfect mafia wife, but when my marriage turns into a horrific nightmare, I have no choice but to leave everything behind and start a new life. One thing that I really liked about this book was that Damiano De Rossi is possessive but not controlling. His possessiveness is out of wanting to protect her versus being controlling as a lot of possessive males are written like. He helps her as she’s unexperienced in the bedroom department and takes care of her even when they are enemies for a bit. He helps her learn to be independent and that she should forgive herself for helping her husband when she had no control over it. I really enjoyed the premise of this book. We get to meet Valentina and what is going on in her life and it's not good. She was forced to marry her father's best soldier and during the 2 months they were married he made her do horrific acts that will never leave her. I was horrified when it was described and especially how her mother/father knew about it all and what she was being forced to do and yet they didn't care and believed it to be his wifely duties.I didn't know what to expect before reading this book - I had never read anything by Gabrielle beforehand but I knew after reading the premise that when the oppurtunity came up to receive this ARC that I wanted to get my hands on it and surely enough I got the chance. a romance between ONE heroine and MULTIPLE heroes which ends A place for book lovers who love to read menage romances which contain polyandry i.e. Safety - again I’d call this safe as there is no cheating between H/h. You definitely feel no sympathy for the psycho ex. The beginning didn’t linger for long and I absolutely loved that we saw Vale make her own way before meeting up with Dem. I felt so many emotions for her when she was on her own, penniless and terrified of what to do next.

I loved the story overall. The plot was intriguing and kept me wanting to read more and more and get to the end to see how it all unfolds. The book was ok but it dragged.... Val rescues a women from her husband's clutches. She then leaves to run away to an island in Spain. Just when she thinks she is free and clear of the mafia she meets. Damiano. It's definitely a small work when Dams sister and Val see each other again.

The writing is pretty good, it's easy to get into, and I'd say I'm more interested in the characters here than the plot, which I think could have been better in many ways. It was a bit anticlimactic for me and didn't develop much further, particularly the conflict. It was so much better than I expected. The story of Valentina & Damiano is beautiful, heartbreaking and exciting. The writing style is awesome! If you don't mind teenage age gaps, then this was a great book with a lot of feeling, drama, and good plot. This book had its moments, Vale is a badass and the author made the effort of adding layers to both Vale and Damiano’s characters but IDK what it is, it just felt a little flat sometimes, however it did have the occasional thrill when they’d talk a little dirty to each other.

Overall I enjoyed the writing style. The choices the author made early helped me move past stuff that would typically annoy me.

Of course, things get hairy when he realizes who she actually is. I liked this section of the book the least. I don’t think he handled it well, not the part when he was being mean to her or when he was brooding and feeling bad for it. I know she was always going to understand why he behaved as he did but *I* didn’t forgive him for his treatment of her so it made it hard to root for him. I really enjoyed the push and pull/tease and test of their initial relationship and just when you were lulled into a sense of familiarity…BAM! The book takes a crazy turn and the action goes full force. He truly cares for his family and later for Valentina. I liked his character and the way he acts. He‘s a big bad guy, but has a big soft spot for Ale. I fell in love with this book within the first few chapters. I loved this so much, I have found a new insta buy author.
